The
main advantages of the electromagnetic stylus in comparison with the pneumatic technology are:
- - A
reduced level of noise
- - Increased depth accuracy
- - A
greater amplitude making for optimal quality markings
on curved surfaces
- - Mono-energy operating
Under
the action of the electromagnetic field, the core pushes the
stylus downwards and a spring pushes it back to its start position.
The frequencies obtained are lower, around 80 Hz, but the amplitudes
are greater however.
The
impact force and therefore the width of a character's line
and the marking depth will depend on the power of the
electro-magnet. Only one electromagnetic stylus model
is available, the EM11B stylus, which can cover a wider range of
impact forces than pneumatic stylus. |
